Why You Need A Copywriter
If you have a website business then you may be wondering if you need a copywriter or indeed, what a copywriter does! After all, you’ve paid the experts to design and build your site and you’ve been assured that it’s SEO friendly, so why isn’t it getting good results from Google and other search engines? Well if that’s your situation then you may well have answered your own question – you need a copywriter!
What is a copywriter?
A copywriter is someone who promotes a brand, company, product, place or even idea through words. It’s a form of persuasive writing but it also includes all of your keywords and phrases into unique content that is easy to read and understandable.
You may have a super new website full of flash images and easy to navigate menu tabs, but unless you have a good copywriter on board you may well struggle to gain advantage of your rivals. It’s almost the difference between buying a shop in a prime position on the high street and buying one tucked away down a side alley. It doesn’t matter how brilliant or unique your product is, if no-one can see it then no-one will buy it.
A good copywriter can bring in those all important back links and make your site fully searchable, giving you a much higher listing with Google and all the other search engines.
As a copywriter there are a number of services I offer to upgrade your site:
- Blog Posts – an excellent way of promoting your product or business that helps get in long-tail search terms.
- Site Content - category pages that are loaded with your keywords and phrases whilst remaining unique, interesting and in a style that is easy to read. No babble, just simple and concise content.
- Product Descriptions - I don’t just describe your product, I SELL your product!
- Ezines and Articles – ezine and article sites can also grab hold of long-tail search terms and provide useful back links to your site.
- White Hat Organic Methods – good content produces long term results that other sites will naturally want to link to.
What is SEO?
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimisation and is a technique that every website seeks to perfect. Putting it simply, it is a way of manipulating your site so that it ticks all the right boxes for Google and other search engines and gets a high ranking for those all-important keywords.
SEO can be obtained through the layout of your site, the images, the words you use, relevant content, unbroken links, external links from other websites, even the font you use will all have an effect on the amount of visitors you get and the length of time they stay on your site. I can offer basic SEO advice for new businesses and help get them to the top of the search engine rankings for relevant search terms.

Why Use a Copywriter?
When you can simply copy and paste or cram in all the keywords yourself? The spamming of keywords across site content is a black hat method of SEO that Google has declared war against, so whilst it might show up benefits in the short term, it won’t be long before Google catches up with you and then you’ve a long battle to redeem yourself once caught out. The best results come through organic white hat methods; that of producing unique and relevant content and keeping the site updated at least once a week, which is why a blog is so handy! The results take their time to show up but it’s a long term solution that will pay dividends in the future!
